 Happy Monday!

Today is the start of our first full week and the students started the week completing a writing task titled- take a MoMint for Yourself Monday. We discussed as a whole group about the things you can do to care of our mind, body, and heart. The students were then asked to write about one of the above three areas and a list of actions they were going to take on to ensure they are keeping healthy. Students will reflect on their progress at the end of the week. Please assist them with meeting their goals.

For example: I can take care of my mind by stretching every morning, playing the piano, or reading Harry Potter. I can take care of my body by eating a healthy diet, playing soccer, or going to bed early.

We also discussed the question: What does a scientist do? Our class literally filled a large chart paper of amazing adjectives and verbs to describe a scientist. From there, they were asked to sketch their version of what a scientist looks like, including 5 of the adjectives that were generated in a unique way. Please ask your child which 5 words they selected to describe a scientist AND what symbol they used.

For example: If a student selected observation as an important adjective, they could then draw a magnifying lens to represent this word.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate in sending me a quick email.

We will continue to practice these skills as the weeks go on to ensure we are keeping both ourselves and each other safe.

Friday, September 11th is an Early Dismissal (12:30pm.)

Thank you to those families who have already sent back their information packages. When you have read through the material please send it back to the school.
